I was born and raised in the once small town of Round Rock, Texas. Come high school graduation, I opted to stay close to home and attend the best university in the world, The University of Texas at Austin. I began my collegiate journey without a declared major but eventually found my way to nursing. In the midst of my senior year studies, the idea for this platform was born with the hope of providing real and raw insight to my imperfect life as a nursing student. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in December 2022 and began my new journey as a pediatric nurse in February 2023.

When I’m not working 12 hour shifts at the hospital, I spend my time reading an array of genres, expressing myself through various creative projects, learning new homemaking skills, discovering the world and its hidden treasures, nurturing friendships, and pursuing God.

Southern Swede, formerly known as Sweat and Soul, is my small corner of the world in which I share my life with those seeking honest connection and comfort in community. I am here to encourage, uplift, connect and relate, without the mask of perfection. I intend to stay true to this claim as I open my heart to you through this space.
